A fascinating original full-color pictorial map from 1956 by designer and illustrator Ira Moss showing the variety and distribution of wildlife and game animals throughout the entire mainland United States. The base map depicts area topography and vegetation using a combination of subtle relief-shading for mountains and scattered pine trees to denote forested areas. Surrounding the main map are boxed inset maps of every game animal listed, showing their habitat within the continental United States. The map index lists the numerous game animals and birds artistically depicted throughout the map as well as the name and location of every national forest shown.
Comes folded in its original folded form. Has one small maybe half inch slit on the crease near the deer left of North Carolina. More visible on the backside. Please see video (Uploaded to Youtube & found under same title name) for a better close up of map condition.
